Open Water Diver
Dive in with the SSI Open Water Diver Program and leave the surface world behind.
With SSI’s 'Comfort Through Repetition' teaching philosophy, you will develop the skills necessary to become a proficient diver and quickly gain confidence in your overall diving ability. As a result, you will have a great time under water! You’ll find the system clear, concise, and enjoyable. You’ll look forward to each successive chapter and DVD as you take your first step toward becoming a trained, certified diver and earning your passport to a lifetime of adventure!
Our proven philosophy for teaching water skills is Comfort Through Repetition, a sensible teaching method involving continuous practice of 'real world' diving skills. By practicing skills repeatedly until they develop ability, SSI students become comfortable under water and really enjoy diving. We want you to be ready to go diving. We will make you a comfortable and confident diver! If you care about becoming a confident diver don’t settle for anything less than an SSI certification. There is a difference in diver training and development.
Requirements
You will need to be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes as part of the physical requirements to complete the course.
Everyone attending a dive course will need a
current diving medical meeting the Australian Standard 4005. 1.
Your local GP may be qualified to perform these, or

All equipment will be supplied except for the mask, snorkel and
boots, as well as bookwork, pool hire, 3 boat dives &
2 shore dives.
