Confined Water Training:
Before setting you free on the oceans of the world, you will need to learn a few basic skills, things such as clearing your mask under water, sharing air with your dive buddy, understanding the importance of mastering buoyancy & many other skills that will make you a confident, proficient & competent diver. At Bay City Scuba our emphasis is to ensure that you are ready to proceed to the next step once you have achieved mastery of the skills in a controlled environment, not just rushed through. This module is run in the comfort of a heated swimming pool over a half or full day depending on the program that you choose.
Open Water Training Day 1:
Shore Dives The following day or days depending on your selected program you will do a series of shore dives, each will average between 50 minutes to 1-1/2 hours, on each dive you will be required to demonstrate the skills you acquired in your pool training and to familiarise yourself with the marine environment.
Open Water Training Day:
Boat Dives The following day will see us board the dive vessel to undertake 2 boat dives, one of which will have you reach a depth of 20 metres – this is the certifying depth through our internationally recognised training partner RAID. This is your passport to dive anywhere in the world independently of a dive professional!
Congratulations, you’re now a RAID Open Water 20 Diver! Go and explore, have fun and feel confident that you have learnt to dive with the best! Don’t forget, we would love for you to continue to your diving with us & continue your diving education.
